This is the form that I generally use for formal parent teacher conferences. Each year it evolves a little, and I change something about it to make it more suitable in representing student learning for the term. I like that it gives parents a clear representation of how their child is doing in each area of the classroom curriculum, and ensures that I do not leave out discussing any particular area by simply overlooking it. It is also designed to reflect the report card model that we use at our school. This way, parents don't receive any surprises on the report card. I will be working with it again this year, in an effort to make sure that each area shown is something which I can accurately assess. There are several areas pertaining to student behaviour and I am considering that they may not all be necessary.
2) I also maintain a Web page through Nesa Virtual Schools which keeps parents updated on classroom events, schedules, current themes in math and language arts.
